A Call to Action!

This International Women’s week (March 3-12), you are invited to contribute your voice in support of CUPE Local 2348’s Midwives in Manitoba! This call to action has been spearheaded at the community level and is building upon the #SupportMBMidwives campaign presented to our MB Government’s Minister of Health, Sharon Blady, on February 29th, 2016.
For our Local, this has been one of the most passionate and community-driven campaigns to date, and it was spearheaded entirely by an incredible group of dedicated community members in order to support the strike action of our Local’s Midwives as we are working through a difficult and lengthy conciliation for equity, equality and fairness.
Our Local Executive is proud of the incredible collaboration with the Labour movement, community members, folks who have worked with Midwifery care and Midwives in MB, organizations, collectives, and numerous other stakeholders. This is truly a time for all of us to be proud, and to recognize that the strength of our messages will be sure to make a difference at the conciliation table!

How to Get Involved!

1. Add your voice to the action by printing and sharing an International Women’s Day (IWD) selfie picture to your own social media page and tag it with:
 ‪#PledgeForParity‬ and/or ‪#SupportMBMidwives‬
