We have a unique educational opportunity for you. Do you hear terms like “trauma-informed” and “cultural safety” but wonder what that looks like in practice? Do you see harm, stereotypes, and racism directed towards Indigenous service users, patients, or co-workers? Are you unsure how to intervene or change biased systems? Do you feel uncertain about how to understand incidents and what words to use? CUPE is offering this Indigenous Cultural safety workshop for CUPE members who work in healthcare settings such as a hospitals, long-term care facilities, first responders, public health, community clinics, and more. Indigenous Cultural Safety in Health Care Workshop Workshop information: Wednesday, May 27, 2026 | 9 AM to 4:30 PM | In-person - CUPE Regional Office @ 275 Broadway Avenue. There is no registration fee. Lunch will be provided. Reach out to mbeducation@cupe.ca to find out more. CUPE members must receive local approval before registering IF they need to be booked off work in order to attend. Members are welcome to sign up on their own if no union leave is required.
