Local 2348 Shop Steward Training | Dates: June 16 - 17, 2026. Special instructions: When using a computer/laptop to register, please hit "Tab" on your keyboard after entering your Local number. Description: The Local 2348 Shop Steward Training program is designed to equip union stewards with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to effectively represent and support members in the workplace. Shop stewards serve as the first point of contact for members with workplace concerns and play a key role in protecting workers’ rights under the collective agreement. Workshops: Introduction to Stewarding. Jun 16, 2026 (9:00am-4:00pm (Central)) (30 spaces available). What does a CUPE steward do? If you are a new steward and want to learn how to help CUPE members solve workplace problems, this introductory workshop is for you! In this 9-hour workshop, you will learn: • investigating workplace problems; • filing a grievance; • meeting with management; • dealing with workplace complaints. NOTE: Please bring a copy of your collective agreement and local union bylaws to the workshop. SLS - Representing members in front of management: Pre-requisites: Introduction to Stewarding. Jun 17, 2026 (9:00am-12:00pm (Central)) (30 spaces available). This module equips stewards to be proactive when meeting with management. Learn tips for effective meetings, and build confidence by practicing meeting situations. LET - Leadership Essentials: Jun 17, 2026 (12:00pm-4:00pm (Central)) (30 spaces available). Who am I as a leader? Who are we as a local union? How do we fit into the broader movement? Learn how to use the power of your elected position to build power and strengthen solidarity in the union, in the labour movement and in our communities. Registration deadline: Jun 12, 2026. Location: CUPE Manitoba Regional Office - Training Centre. 703-275 Broadway. Winnipeg, Manitoba. Number of spaces available: 30. Workshop is restricted to members of: CUPE 2348.
